Three....Two....One...

Weekends with my family are always fun BUT when you add a holiday to that it gets really fun(and dangerous)! You would think with an 8,5,4 and 2 year old they would be the ones getting into trouble but not this weekend! My brother got this for Christmas and decided this was the perfect time to try it out.

We all gathered in anticipation to watch the launch of the Super Shot.

After about 3 failed countdowns we had to send in our A team to see what the problem was.

Even after a thorough evaluation by our 2nd grade honor student we still had no launch. It was decided the ignition was bad and my brother would have to run home and get another one(is it weird that he has extra ignitions?)But my Dad thought he had the perfect solution.

He decided he would be the igniter and light a fire under the rocket! So we did one final countdown. The result was....well...

The rocket caught on fire and we were all afraid it was going to shot up and land in a near by field in a ball of flames. I could picture the headlines the next day-Local Engineers Failed Super Shot results in 50 Acre Fire-but luckily that didn't happen and we just had a charred rocket :)

If that wasn't enough my dad decided to take both of his confetti canons to the local Memorial Day parade.(Yes my dad owns not just one confetti canon-but two)
Here is Jason with the "homemade" canon.

He decided to set it off right as a pair of horses was passing and asked the driver "Do you think they'll mind?" This guys was probably thinking "Do I mind if he wants to bring his little granddaughters over to pet the horse?" Of course not he says and BOOM confetti everywhere and two VERY scared horse pulling a wagon of about 20 people. I was picturing the second headline-Local Engineer causes Horses Pulling Wagon To Lead Local Veterans On An Unexpected Thrill Ride-luckily that didn't happen either and my dad actually works with the guy steering the horses.

We had a great weekend and are so thankful for every man and women that has served our country! Thank You!

Construction Zone

A few Saturdays ago I entered a serious construction zone! My husband Jason works for Habitat for Humanity and last weekend they celebrated the wall raising of their 200th house in Columbus.

It was really great to see all the progress and meet the family that will be living in the house he is leading. Here is his crew that he was working with Saturday and the family after they installed the door.
